What to bring
Camp is located in Big Bear CA. Temperatures during the day will range from 72β and 80β during the day and at night temperatures may drop to 44β or even a little cooler than that on occasion. It is a good idea to plan for both warm and cool weather. You should plan on packing the following items:
Must Bring:
- βSmall alarm Clock
- βA warm sleeping bag / Pillow / sheet
- βAn inexpensive watch
- βTraining Manual
- β Backpack
- β A Bathing suite (modest), towel, sun hat, sun screen
- β 2 pairs of comfortable, durable athletic or hiking shoes. Closed Toed w/good Traction
- β Flash light or Head lamp and extra batteries
Should Bring
- π³οΈβπ Prescription Meds (Must be given to the Med Staff in ORIGINAL containers)
- π³οΈβπ Warm Sleepwear
- π³οΈβπ 1 bath towel and 1 Pool towel
- π³οΈβπ Personal toiletry items (menstrual hygeiene products, deodorant, hair brush, etc.)
- π³οΈβπ Toothbrush & Toothpaste
- π³οΈβπ Bath soap/shampoo (travel size)
- π³οΈβπ small zipped bag for all toiletries (Toiletries must be kept in separate zipped bag!)
- π³οΈβπ 6 - 7 pairs of socks
- π³οΈβπ 6 - 7 pairs of underwear
- π³οΈβπ 2 - 3 pairs of durable shorts
- π³οΈβπ 2 - 3 pairs of durable jeans/pants

What to Wear
Our Goal is to create an environment that is emotionally and physically safe, as well as culturally sensitive, for everyone. In order to do so we ask that all staff dress appropriately for camp and the weather. These guidelines are for outdoor and indoor activities. In advance, we thank you for your cooperation.
What Not to Bring:
The following Items are NOT Permitted:
- βΉοΈ Ipods/radio/MP3 players/tablets, video games etc.
- βΉοΈ Anything valuable
- βΉοΈ Money
- βΉοΈ Weapons
- βΉοΈ Matches/lighters
- βΉοΈ Fireworks or other dangerous substances
- βΉοΈ Alcohol or controlled substances (marijuana, tobacco, nicotines, electronic cigarettes, vaping etc.) prescription medication, over the counter medication, needed will be checked in by the RN and reviewed. All medications must be in original containers.
- βΉοΈ Personal Sports equipment
- βΉοΈ Any kind of video games
- βΉοΈ Any pet or other live animal
- βΉοΈ Personal vehicle (if not approved as a camp driver)
- βΉοΈ Cigarettes or tobacco/vaping products
The Laurel Foundation employees are not responsible for any items lost or stolen during the course of camp. Please help us prevent any problems before they start. Make sure do not bring any valuables or other forbidden items to camp.
** Please Note ** that the campsite ** does not permit Smoking ** on the premises at any time.
We suggest you pack all of your belongings in a duffle bag, ** clearly marked** with your name. No trunks or hard suitcases please. Each person is permitted 2 pieces of luggage.

Please note that staff will not have access to a telephone to make or receive calls, unless in the event of an emergency. Our emergency phone line at camp 213 - 300 - 2267. Messages are checked daily. Please give this to your loved ones or anyone that might need to get a message to you immediately. This phone will be monitored 24 hours a day.
